If no one is responsible for the co-ordination of all this transport, it can quickly become a gigantic logistical problem, with safety risks and not least crowding on the site, potential problems.

This is a very useful tool in major construction projects, not least when developing new residential areas with many builders and contractors on the same site at the same time.
